13 Luxury Pools in Small Spaces
If you thought there wasn’t much you could do with small spaces, we’re sorry to tell you that you were mistaken.
Take note of how these architecture and interior design studios have managed to include a luxury pool in these 13 diverse projects while adding both functionality and beauty to the limited space.
All these pools stand out for some detail, be it their coating, their shape, their location, their color, respect to traditions or their avant-garde.
Furthermore, one of them belongs to one of GodoPools‘ latest and most modern projects. Can you guess which one it is?
Luxury Pool in a Small Space: Tulum (Mexico)
This modern pool stands out for its originality in being incorporated as part of the living room.
Given that the Casa Aviv residence had only a small interior patio, the decision was made to turn the entire outdoor space into a pool surrounded by vegetation.
To avoid making the area feel cramped and to provide easier access, the living room was integrated with the pool through large glass folding doors.
The objective was definitely achieved: a pool was added to the house, the living room space was expanded by connecting it to the pool and surrounding vegetation, and the entire ensemble was embellished.
What do you think of this modern pool in a small space?
Design Pool in a Small Attic: Madrid
We love how this small terrace space in Madrid was put to great use.
Instead of having a pool at ground level, they opted for an elevated pool, with the sides covered in glass or acrylic panels. (We’re not sure which of these two materials was used in this project by Diego Rodríguez Interiorismo, but at GodoPools, we always recommend using acrylic panels). We explained why in this post 👉 Why not use glass for swimming pools? Acrylic panel
This design choice allowed them to include a pool in this limited space and still enjoy unparalleled views of Madrid from inside the water.
Do you like this way of adding a special touch to your attic?
Modern Pool in a Small Interior Patio: Cap Ferret (France)
Interior designer Joanne de Lépinay’s pool is the kind of quiet luxury pool that combines both traditional and modern elements, which is why we love it!
Built in the small interior patio of her home in the French Landes, it doesn’t overwhelm or diminish the space.
Three details stand out:
- The lining: Mosaic tones were chosen to blend with the abundant tropical vegetation, including bougainvillea, palm trees, birch, and jasmine.
- Its shape: A fully square design with a built-in seat.
- Its style: The pool blends two styles: Moroccan and Italian, resulting in a very cozy outcome.
Luxury Pool in a Wellness Retreat: Greece
Speaking of Euphoria Retreat means talking about much more than just a hotel. It’s a wellness resort where water and spirituality play leading roles.
As expected, it has several pools and wellness areas.
However, there’s one pool that stands out for its imaginative design in a small space, and that’s this one:
This design pool was built in the interior courtyard, around which stairs lead to the upper floors of the resort.
By adding this small pool, they managed to beautify the interior space simply with the sound of water, which can be heard through the arches overlooking the pool all along the stairs.
Furthermore, they took advantage of the fact that this pool was included in a small space to give it the prominence of being a healing and holistic space for spiritual retreats.
This concept is truly inspiring!
Small Pool in a Traditional Residence: Mérida (Mexico)
If you have an old, traditionally-styled, small-sized home, you’ll be inspired by how the Arista Cero studio and architect Gina Góngora added a small pool to Casa Vagantes Ermita in Mérida (Mexico).
During the renovation, they managed to preserve the traditional rustic style while adding an enhancement: a small pool in the small space of the patio.
As you can see, the result is sublime. The small body of water integrates beautifully with the kitchen and dining area, connected by a large glass door. This allows natural light to flood in and creates a sense of spaciousness.
One detail we love is the addition of a small seating area inside the pool, so one person can sit in the water and have a conversation with someone in the kitchen or dining area. Such details enhance the project’s functionality and harmony, making it both practical and beautiful.
Would you consider adding a small pool like this to your home?
Luxury Pool with Striking Design in an Attic: Marbella
Some people believe that there is not enough space for a pool in an attic and opt directly for prefabricated pools. However, from experience, we know that most of the time, if a previous study of the space and its characteristics is done, a custom-built pool can be included to make the most of the attic and give it prominence.
This is the case with this attic in Puerto Banús (Marbella). Despite having limited square meters, Godo Pools took care of designing a custom project that would take advantage of the small space to magnify it and give it a lot of prominence, just as their clients desired.
For the lining, they opted for a decoration with Pixel technique and Peacock typology, 100% customized with SICIS mosaic. This design undoubtedly adds a lot of personality, style, and sophistication to the attic.
Additionally, they added an acrylic panel on one side of the pool to increase the feeling of spaciousness and enhance the overall beauty with views of the horizon.
Do you believe us now when we say that building a luxury pool in a small space is possible?
Modern Pool in a Very Small Space: Santorini (Greece)
Can you think of a way to include a pool in an interior courtyard without taking up too much space?
Kapsimalis Architects had a brilliant idea by including one of the two pools of Two Residences under the staircase leading to the upper floor.
With great ingenuity, they managed to add a water feature in a truly small courtyard. Additionally, by covering the entire space in the typical bright white color so characteristic of the Greek islands, they gave the water a very transparent bluish hue, creating a relaxed and beautiful space.

Sophisticated Pool in a Small Space: Thailand
Would you like to include a pool in a small space but with a refined and elegant style?
Slepless Residence by WARchitect in Thailand is an example of how to integrate a pool with the rest of the spaces while adding sophistication to the entire concept.
Very inspiring how the pool was added longitudinally and parallel along the entire living room, allowing the water to enter the house and providing a sense of spaciousness in the small area. This was made possible by connecting the spaces with foldable glass windows.
On the other hand, the daring mix of coverings between the interior is very striking, with travertine marble on the interior and emerald green mosaic on the exterior. However, we love the result, and it serves as an example that combinations of different tones and materials can be successful if a thorough and comprehensive study of the whole ensemble is conducted.
Lastly, it is fascinating how the panoramic view towards the lake was optimized, with the pool overflowing on its exterior side, allowing bathers to contemplate the beautiful vegetation and surroundings.
What do you think of how this luxury pool was integrated?
Small Pool in a Historic Building: Iran
Adding a small pool can become an even more challenging task when it comes to incorporating it into a historic building like Green Mansion in Iran.
Taking into account that the historical context and original style of the building were to be preserved, a small ground-level pool was chosen to be added in the interior courtyard.
In order to enhance the color of the vegetation, a mosaic lining in a dark green tone was selected for the pool’s interior and its perimeter, along with a combination of different shades of green for the exteriors. All the mosaics were handcrafted to maintain the traditional style.
One could say that the traditional style of the residence has been successfully preserved while adding an extra touch of color that highlights the entire ensemble, without going overboard.
Would you like to add a pool of this style in your interior courtyard?
Design Pool with Platform and Stairs: Mexico
There’s no doubt about it. The pool at Casa Criollo in Mexico is an example that having a small space doesn’t mean sacrificing functionality.
The Jsa studio managed to add a pool in the limited outdoor patio of this residence that includes everything a guest might need: space for swimming, seating, and relaxation.
The small pool is well thought out as it features easily accessible stairs, a narrow side for seating, and, what we love the most, a spacious sunbathing platform made of bronze, which is currently trending, where you can lounge in a sunbed within the water.
Can a small pool be more functional? We don’t think so.
Modern Pool in the BBQ Area: Australia
What better complement to the outdoor barbecue space of a home than a pool?
This design by Studio Prineas is very inspiring due to these details:
- The pool may be small, but a hydro-massage area has been perfectly integrated into its interior.
- The wood cladding on the exteriors and the wooden hut doesn’t prevent the pool from being lined with other materials, such as mosaic, and it blends in perfectly.
- Green tones are always a success in areas with vegetation, as they blend with the surroundings and reflect the vegetation in the water, enhancing its beauty.
We, for sure, love the result because by combining both concepts (barbecue + pool), we increase the functionality of both.
Would you like to have a small pool next to your barbecue? 💚
Charming Small Pool in a Boutique Hotel: Sevilla
Sometimes, the luxury of a pool can be determined by the environment that surrounds it. This is the case with the indoor pool at Palacio Bucarelli in Sevilla.
This building from the late 17th century was recently restored by the Bucarelli family from Florence, adapting it to all the comforts of the 21st century while preserving much of its original structure and elements.
Their pool is very eye-catching as it has been integrated into a very small space but with a lot of charm. Clad in light gray natural stone, it blends with the original whitish color of its walls and also retains an arched entrance to the pool, which gives it a classic and traditional style, yet very elegant and sophisticated.
Furthermore, without forsaking its essence, we love how they have integrated seating areas around the pool’s perimeter, as well as several hydro-massage points. An excellent way to turn this luxury pool into a multifunctional space.
In summary, we find it commendable that they have preserved the unique style of the residence in this water area without sacrificing the incorporation of new trends.
Luxury Pool with Moroccan Style: Tanger
Just a few meters from Plaza Gran Zoco, in Tanger, you will find La Maison de Tanger, a neo-Moroccan style house where its garden with a pool is one of the most visited attractions.
We love how their pool, built at ground level and surrounded by abundant vegetation, preserves that characteristic Moroccan style: exterior cladding in beige, interior cladding in emerald green, and exterior decorations with arches and stars in the same green as the pool.
As a result, it is a very authentic pool, simple yet extremely special.
You can take a look at this wonderful pool on their Instagram profile: @lamaison-detanger.
